'Yes, God, Yes': Meet Natalia Dyer, Alisha Boe and the rest of the cast of the coming-of-age sex comedy

Awkward sexual awakenings are embarrassing enough as they are. We have some six American Pie movies to establish just how humiliating an awkward boner or being labeled a psycho pervert can be. But the upcoming ‘Yes, God, Yes’ takes it a whole notch higher by spinning a whole Catholic girl spin on it. But before you watch the film, now is a great time to familiarize with all the not so unfamiliar faces set to star in it. Meet the cast of ‘Yes, God, Yes’ right here!

Natalia Dyer as Alice

You have known her as the ‘it girl’ Nancy Wheeler from ‘Stranger things’ and while her crushing Steve Harrington’s heart might seem unforgivable, you’re going to relate to her on a whole other level as the shy and blossoming Alice in this upcoming movie. Alice’s life as a teen in the 2000s changes after a raunchy encounter in an AOL chatroom. And Dyer’s had changed after making her debut at age of twelve in the ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ (2009) starring Miley Cyrus.

Alisha Boe as Nina

Alice meets Nina, an avid church-going Catholic at camp, and is immediately chastised by her devout nature for being a ‘lust-filled freak’. We met Boe in ’13 Reasons Why’ as the rape survivor Jessica Davis, who went on to become a staunch activist against sexual assault. The Norwegian and American actress has also starred as guest appearances on ‘Modern Family’, ‘Teen Wolf’, and ‘CSI: Cyber’.

Donna Lynne Champlin as Mrs Veda

Mrs Veda is your classic Catholic shunning anything remotely sexual and who better to play it than Champlin? The comedienne, dancer, and singer is best known for playing Paula Proctor on The CW -drama series ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’.

Wolfgang Novogratz as Chris

Chris is singlehandedly responsible for Alice’s sexual awakening right the moment she meets the camp counselor. Novogratz is a known face in teen romcoms these days having starred in ‘Sierra Burgess Is a Loser’ (2018), ‘Assassination Nation’ (2018), and ‘The Half of It’ (2020).

Timothy Simons as Father Murphy

Alice comes across the forgiving Father Murphy who believes adolescents need sex education, regardless of their religious beliefs. The actor and writer is known for his works in ‘Veep’ (2012), ‘Inherent Vice’ (2014) and ‘Draft Day’ (2014).

‘Yes, God, Yes’ releases on Friday 24 in select drive-ins, followed by a VoD release on July 28.
