Charlize Theron in The Old Guard

Referring to a moving scene where the two men profess their love, Charlize elaborated, “And I remember some people going, ‘Yeah, but can we pull this off? I was like, ‘Yes, we can do this.’ And then we screen-tested Marwan and Luca together to see how their chemistry would be, and that was the first time we heard an actor actually say those words out loud, to all of us, it felt like one of those moments where you just went, ‘Wow, okay. This is new. I have not seen a lot of this.'”

She added, “We do worry so much about those moments because we tend to worry more and try to make the audience feel more comfortable when it really should be the other way around. We should really be telling these stories, just in complete honesty and have the world catch up. Like, get with it. Jump on the bus because it’s leaving.” The Old Guard Trailer: Charlize Theron’s Badass Avatar Will Remind you of Furiosa (Watch Video).

She also spoke about the statements that were issued by studios in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. The actress says that if the studios don’t live up to their word and fulfill ther promises, they should be called out.  “If we have to involve some shaming, then that’s what we have to do. If we are silent, even if we’re not the ones not making the right decisions, and we are silent, we are just as culpable, and we have to use our voices. And if we know of situations where we know people are not fully doing the potential that they have to reimagine this world that we’re talking about, and they’re not actively and proactively doing that, then we have to call them out on it. That is our responsibility,” she said.

Arshi Khan on Her Web Series Mary Aur Marlow: “It Will Have Bold Content but Still Is a Fun, Comic Show”

Actress Arshi Khan is out exploring her comic side in the OTT space and she is aware her new show comes with loads of double meaning. Bigg Boss 11’s Arshi Khan Feels Controversies Exits Because Audience Likes Watching Contestants Fight.

Arshi is seen trying her hand at comedy in the web series Mary Aur Marlow. She stars opposite Akshay Mishra in the series that revolves around Mary and Marlow, where Mary (Arshi) ends up becoming a sexpert for grassroots level people who cannot afford to go to the doctor or specialist.

Since Mary’s Hindi is not up to the mark, Akshay, who plays Marlow, helps her communicate with the people she sets out to help. However, when he tries using ‘shudh’ Hindi, it leads to unintentional double meaning language.

From the trailer and title, it is not surprisingly evident that the show has a lot of double-meaning dialogues. Former Bigg Boss 11 Contestant Arshi Khan to Enter Savitri Devi College And Hospital as a GHOST.

“It’s a double-meaning show but I think Mary Aur Marlow is also a fun title. After hearing the title, people think it will have bold content but when they watch it, they will realise it’s a fun show, which has a lot of comic scenes,” Arshi told IANS in a telephonic interview.

Reacting to the government’s decision, to put all digital media portals, including online news and Over-the-Top (OTT) platforms under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting regulation, Arshi said: “The government should definitely regulate digital platforms because nowadays there are a lot of web series that are showing vulgar content and people of any age group can access the internet. So, the government surely needs to keep an eye on them.”

Arshi feels she has good comic timing. “I never find it difficult to do comedy on screen because I feel my comic timing is really good, so I like to act in shows which have comic content,” Arshi said.

“I had a really nice experience shooting for this series and I had a lot of fun working with (director) Anirudh (Kumar) while we were shooting for it. We have released just one episode of the show and I hope the audience will have a lot more fun watching the next episodes,” she added about the show, currently streaming on Big Movie Zoo App.

Shakeela sounds like a great project. It looks vibrant and colourful so far. This will be one of the films that will ride on Richa’s shoulders as a heroine, which we hate to say, but is still a rare feat in Bollywood.

The movie wrapped up its shooting in Jan 2019. “I’m looking forward now that the film has wrapped up for the release next year. We have kept the story to the most authentic version of her real life. Shakeela herself has been pivotal to making this film happen and helping us an in-depth knowledge into her life which has helped us tell the story in its most authentic version possible,” Richa had said in a statement back then. Well finally the movie is releasing. Can’t wait to watch.
