India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, one of the players who played a key role in India’s historic win in Australia, was named the Best Male Player of the Internal Cricket Council (ICC) along with England captain Joe Root and Irish batsman Paul Sterling. In women’s cricket, Diana Baig of Pakistan, Shabnam Ismail of South Africa and Marijan Cape have been nominated for this monthly degree.
The shortlisted players are voted on by the ICC Voting Academy and fancy from around the world. The ICC Voting Academy consists of senior journalists, former players and broadcasters including prominent members of the cricket family and some members of the ICC Hall of Fame. The celebrities will be announced every second Monday of the month on the ICC’s digital channels.
