POP Peeper

One of the applications that cannot be missing on our computer is an application to manage our email. So that we do not have to check our account frequently to check if we have received a new email, we can use an application such as POP Peeper, which runs in the background in the Windows taskbar, and will be in charge of activating by means of a sound and an icon every time we receive a new email.

POP Peeper, show notifications and manage emails

Pop Peeper is a small tool that acts as an email notifier and client. It runs in the background from the Windows taskbar and will notify us every time we receive a new email message in any of our accounts. It has several notification options available, such as configurable sound alerts for each account, customizable pop-up notifier, voice notification, among others.

We can also use this application to send emails. Features include spell checker and address book for frequently used contacts. In addition, it allows viewing messages using HTML, or through rich or plain text. There will be no lack of security measures such as SSL / TLS and OAuth2 (Outlook, Yahoo, Gmail).

Main features

  • Sound notifications: customizable and unique sounds for each account.
  • Icon notifications that appear in the system tray, showing the color and number of new messages received in each account.
  • Scroll Lock or Flashing Numeric Lock LED.
  • Pop-up window to show which account we have received an email.
  • BallonTip function, which is responsible for displaying the subject and the sender of the last received email message.
  • It allows you to automatically open POP Peeper or log in with our email manager when you receive a new email.

POP Peeper performs its work from the system bar

Once we start the application, its main menu appears, reminding us of any other email manager. Every time we close or minimize the application, it will be automatically hosted in the Windows taskbar, from where we will receive notifications and we will be able to open it whenever we need it.

To start using it we must proceed to add all the email accounts we need. For this we go to the toolbar at the top and select the option “Accounts”. Here we click on the “Add” button. Then we can choose between “Import account from another email client” such as Outlook Express, Netscape or Live Mail or “Create a new account”. When creating a new account we can use compatible servers such as POP3, IMAP, Hotmail, Yahoo, among others.

Next, we must enter our email. Subsequently, we must write the type of server both input and output, which if recognized will appear by default, so we continue. In the next window we choose the name, we put the password and it also allows us to select a color to differentiate them from others. We click “Finish” and the account will be created and it will start downloading the emails that we have stored.

The application has problems when synchronizing Gmail accounts

It should be noted that we have had problems configuring Gmail accounts. When trying to connect, Gmail prohibits access to the application as it is considered unsafe, as it does not meet its security standards. With GMX accounts we have also had some problem, since we have to have the POP3 / IMAP / SMTP protocols enabled to be able to carry out the synchronization.

When we already have our account well configured, we can download all the messages that we have in it. To do this, right-click on the account and select «Check email». Once the download is finished, a notification will appear in the lower right. In the same way, a notification will appear each time we receive a new email.

Once all our mail is downloaded, we can use the “Messages” tab to enable filters on messages, as well as hide read messages, hide seen messages, hide hidden messages and add filters to the message list. Through this filter we can choose whether we want to show everything, show spam and unknown or hide them.

How to Download POP Peeper

They also do not attempt to sneak any additional software into us during installation. The latest version available is v4.5.3 which dates from August 25, 2019.

It goes without saying that there are more and more wireless headphones for sale, especially the so-called True Wireless, that is, without cables of any kind. As there are so many, it is sometimes difficult to choose, especially if you are looking for ones that are above all cheap.

However, there are certain models that have a good price and are completely trustworthy, such as the Umi. by Amazon W5s that, as its name suggests, are endorsed by Amazon and cost only 28 euros at the moment.

They are available in four different colors and have another promotion, for which you can take four units paying only three , in case you want to share a purchase with family or friends.

In addition, the wireless standard used is Bluetooth 5.0, which not only improves the connection speed and latency, but also makes the link much more stable, and all this with less energy consumption.

They come with their included charging case, where you can recharge them multiple times without having to go through a plug. Adding the different battery cycles can reach about 30 hours of battery life .

They are IPX7 certified water resistant, so you can exercise with them without fear, even if it’s raining heavily.

One of the few drawbacks is that when it does not come close to € 29, shipping is only free if you include two units in your order or if you have Amazon Prime, in which case the store will assume all shipping costs to the address that indicate.

The best option to save costs is to sign up for the Amazon Prime free trial month , since without having a commitment to stay you can cancel at the time you want and without penalty for the first 30 days.

Musk hints that there will be a smaller Cybertruck for Europe

Two things cannot be denied. The first is that everything around the Tesla Cybertruck is of great interest to many people across the planet. Whether with adoration or dread, this vehicle is expected to change the road landscape and there is great curiosity to definitely see it on the market. The other issue is that Elon Musk’s Twitter account is an inexhaustible source of news .

There were many details that drew attention when the Cybertruck was discovered. But beyond its angles or the interior, the large size was something especially commented. As pointed out in Autobild , the measurements are 5,881 mm in length, 2,027 mm in width and 1,905 mm in height . Perhaps a size they are more used to in the United States, where trucks are common, but not in Europe.

In any case, yesterday they asked Musk about the possibility of a smaller version for Europe, and their answer was that it is very likely to be seen in the future .

Highly likely down the road – Elon Musk (@elonmusk) August 4, 2020

In the same conversation, someone also commented on the need to reduce the width of the vehicle to be able to move or work in the city , to which Musk answered True .

As they point out in Electrek , this comment comes months after Musk met with his chief designer, Franz von Holzhausen, and scrapped the idea of reducing the size of the van by 3% . These swings are an indication that there is a discussion regarding the size of the vehicle.

Despite the great impact that this van has and the large number of reservations that are taking place in the United States, there are many doubts about its launch . A few weeks ago we told you about the changes that they will be forced to make in their design to adapt to US legislation, but surely in Europe they will find more obstacles to obtaining circulation permits.

In any case, we must not forget that Musk knows the promotion he achieves through his tweets and that he sometimes likes to remove the networks to achieve repercussion. But it’s true that with the Tesla Cybertruck there is still a lot to discuss before it goes into production .
