Nokia Signs Agreement With LG Uplus To Tap South Korea’s 5G Equipment Market: Report

Seoul, April 19: Nokia, a Finnish telecom equipment giant, said on Monday it has signed an agreement with South Korean mobile carrier LG Uplus to install its next-generation indoor 5G equipment in the country. Nokia said it will deploy its small cell AirScale Indoor systems in indoor locations across the country, including shopping malls and office buildings, for LG Uplus’ 5G network. Nokia G10, Nokia G20, Nokia C10, Nokia C20, Nokia X10 & Nokia X20 Phones Launched.

The system allows seamless 5G connectivity between indoor and outdoor locations and can be easily upgraded to accommodate future network expansion, according to Nokia. South Korean telecom operators have recently focused on expanding 5G coverage in indoor locations amid complaints of lack of network availability, reports Yonhap news agency.

A government report late last found that 5G was available in 61.8 percent of the total 4,516 major public buildings across the country’s 85 cities. LG Uplus uses 5G equipment from Nokia, Electronics Co., China’s Huawei Technologies Co. and Sweden’s Ericsson.

Asus, the Taiwanese maker officially launched its ZenFone 8 Series in Europe and Taiwan. ZenFone 8 Series consists of ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip devices. Asus ZenFone 8 is at EUR 670 (approximately Rs 59,600) for the base model but it will be made available at an introductory price of EUR 600 (Rs 53,400). TikTok India Head Nikhil Gandhi Resigns: Report

New Delhi: Nikhil Gandhi, the India Head of China’s ByteDance-owned short video-sharing platform TikTok, has decided to quit and is currently serving his notice period, IWMBuzz reported. After the company folded its India business, Gandhi was recently redesignated as TikTok Head for the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and South Asia. TikTok App Banned by Indian Government, Chinese Company ByteDance Stand to Lose More Than Rs 3 Crore Everyday in Revenues.

“After much reflection on my time here at ByteDance and looking at my future goals, I have made the difficult decision to leave my role in the company,” Gandhi was quoted as saying by IWMBuzz. “Working with TikTok, I have seen our app shepherd in a new era of connection, communication and cultural appreciation,” he added.

TikTok roped in Gandhi in the year 2019 as its India head to drive the next phase of growth for the Chinese short video-sharing platform. However, in 2020, the Indian government said it was banning 59 apps developed by Chinese firms, including TikTok, over concerns that these apps were engaging in activities that threatened the national security and defence of India.
