In an interview, model-actress Chitrangda Singh, revealed the issues she faced in the initial days of her career. She told BT, “I know the feeling of living life as a girl with dusky complexion. This is not something that people will say directly to your face. You can only sense it. I have been through the biases, especially while growing up in the north. So, with my post, I just wanted to say that one needs to feel beautiful in their own skin.”

Chitrangda Singh shared how she lost on modelling assignments due to her skin colour. She stated, “I did lose out on modelling assignments. In fact, when I lost out on one ad in the initial days of my career, I was specifically told the reason as it had come down to selecting between two people for the part. Luckily, the audition that I did for a product was seen by Gulzar saab, who got me on board for his music video. I realised that not everybody goes out looking for white-skinned people here.” Sai Pallavi Rejects a Fairness Cream Ad Deal Worth 2 Crores and All We Can Say is ‘You Go Girl!’

A Suitable Boy Controversy: FIR Registered Against Netflix by MP Police over Kissing Scene in the Temple

An FIR has been registered in Madhya Pradesh against two Netflix officials for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through the web series A Suitable Boy, said Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. “On the basis of a complaint filed by Gaurav Tiwari, an FIR is being registered under section 295 (A) (malicious acts to outrage and insulting the religious feelings and beliefs) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in Rewa against Netflix officials — Monika Shergill and Ambika Khurana,” Mishra said in a video. A Suitable Boy Review: Tabu and Ishaan Khatter’s Mini-Series Is Not a ‘Suitable’ Adaptation for the Book Fans!

Shergill is the Vice President of Netflix India while Khurana is the Director of Public Policy at the streaming platform. On Sunday, Mishra had hinted at possible legal action against the makers of the web series. He had said the state police have been asked to probe the web series by Mira Nair to check if kissing scenes in the show have been shot in a temple. “‘A Suitable Boy’ was released on an OTT media platform. Kissing scenes were filmed inside a temple with bhajans being sung in the background. I consider it objectionable. I think this hurt feelings,” Mishra said in a video tweet. A Suitable Boy: Mira Nair’s BBC Drama Sets Premiere Date For Netflix

“I have directed police to examine the series and determine what action can be taken against the producer and director of this series,” he added about the Netflix series. The video has received mixed reactions from netizens. A user tweeted: “If your not liking the content, no one is forcing you to watch it. The super court of India said so. I don’t like your face, so I won’t watch your videos, I won’t ask the police to investigate your uglyness and ban you from appearing in public.”

“Why there should be objection. Hindu religion is broad minded and the sculptures on Hindu temples speak of romance as a way of life and not something to be ashamed of. It is not considered a sin,” wrote another user. He found suppoort on social media, too. “This double standards by OTT platforms must be probhited and banned. Full support,” wrote a user. Another user wrote: “Thank You MP’s Home Minister @drnarottammisra Ji. Please Ban Netflix In India, it’s harmful for Indian Culture. #BoycottNetflix.”

Bigg Boss 14's Jaan Kumar Sanu Hits Back at Father Kumar Sanu, Says 'He Left Us When I Was Not Even Born, How Could He Question My Upbringing?'

Jaan Kumar Sanu’s story finally might be the one which makes everyone who hates nepo-kids, think again. He is the son of the popular veteran singer Kumar Sanu, but has had barely a connection with him since birth. Jaan is the latest contestant to be evicted from the reality show, Bigg Boss 14. After his exit, he learnt that his MIA father has made an unsavoury remark about his upbringing. During his stint the house, Jaan garnered controversy because of his remark on the Marathi language. His father said in a video on social media, “I don’t know about the upbringing his mother gave him.” Bigg Boss 14: Jaan Kumar Sanu EVICTED From Salman Khan’s Show, Nikki Tamboli Cries.

Jaan has hit back at Kumar Sanu for questioning his upbringing.  In an interview with Pinkvilla, he said, “Tell me something, my father left us when I was not even born. How could he question my upbringing and what would he even know about it? I don’t think it was the right thing on his part to do. As far as I’ve seen the videos, nobody asked him for a comment and he came up with an assaulting derogatory video that raised questions on my parvarish. I have solely grown up with my mother.”

He continued, “If Salman sir has himself praised my upbringing, then there’s no question of talking about it. Inside the Bigg Boss house, there was no one who will raise a finger at my upbringing.” Bigg Boss 14: Jaan Kumar Sanu Opens Up on Being Called a Product of Nepotism by Rahul Vaidya, Says ‘My Dad Has Not Really Supported My Career’ [Onhike Exclusive].

Jaan also said that he was confused about what his father wanted as right after questioning his upbringing in a video, he posted another video praising his son. Jaan remarked, “If you have such twisted and changing opinions, then there would be no weight in your words. I want to have a word with him and ask him why he said what he did because it definitely hurt me. At the end of the day, he’s my father; I love him and respect him but I’ll have a better perspective when I speak to him.”
