IPL chairman Brijesh Patel earlier in the month confirmed that the 13th edition of the competition will be played in from September 19, 2020, to November 8, 2020. This is the second time that Indian Premier League will be played in the United Arab Emirates as the cash-rich league moved to the country in 2014. The second-ever edition of the competition was also held outside India as South Africa hosted India’s premier T20 cricket tournament. Due to political complications, 2009 IPL was moved outside India. Even though the cash-rich league was held outside the country for the first time, its format remained the same.

So as we once again gear up to see India’s most famous domestic Twenty-20 tournament taking place on foreign soil, we take a look at the countries who have hosted the competition for all these years.

The 13th edition of Indian Premier League was scheduled to take place from March 29, 2020, onwards but the competition was postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic. However, with the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup all put off till next year, BCCI have decided to stage the cash-rich league in UAE this year.

India captain Virat Kohli has scored another century not on the pitch this time but on social media as he became the world’s first cricketer with 100 million followers on the social media platform Instagram.

The 32-year-old Kohli is also the first person from the Asia-Pacific region to achieve this feat.

The ICC tweeted, “Virat Kohli – became the first star cricketer to reach 100 million followers on Instagram.” Kohli is the fourth most followed player on Instagram.

Portugal football star Cristiano Ronaldo is ahead of Argentina football captain and FC Barcelona legend Lionel Messi and Neymar of Brazil with 265 million followers, who are second and third with 186 million and 147 million followers respectively.

Other Hollywood actors and former pro wrestlers in the 100 Million Club are Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, American singer-songwriter Beyoncé and Ariana Grande. Kohli, who is counted among the best batsmen in the world, has 27 centuries in Test matches and 43 tons in ODI cricket.

Kohli is the most followed person on Instagram in India.

Team India coach Ravi Shastri gets corona vaccine, share photo



India’s men’s cricket team’s head coach Ravi Shastri received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is received. According to the Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, more than 29 lakh people had registered online or through the Arogya Setu app by 8.30 pm on Monday, the first day of the public rollout of the coronovirus vaccine.
