Bollywood Actor Salman Khan Invests in Short-Form Video App ‘Chingari’

New Delhi, April 2: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has invested in homegrown short-form video app Chingari, the company announced on Friday. With Salman as global brand ambassador and investor, Chingari said it is looking to augment its position as the market leader. The company, however, did not disclose the funding amount from Salman. The came as Bengaluru-based telecommunication firm OnMobile led a $13 million (nearly Rs 95 crore) funding round in Chingari on Thursday. TikTok Rival Chingari Clocks 30 Million Downloads Milestone in Three Months: Report.

“It is our pleasure to have Salman on-board as one of our global brand ambassador and investor. We are confident that our association will power Chingari to scale greater heights in the near future,” said Sumit Ghosh, Co-founder and CEO, Chingari.

“Chingari has always focused on empowering the content creators and builds on its strategy to continuously bring exciting content for all users with more relevant and robust features,” said Deepak Salvi, Co-Founder and COO, Chingari.

“I like how Chingari has shaped up in such a short span of time, a platform for millions from to urban to showcase their unique talents and be seen by another million’s in no time,” said Salman.

The app currently has more than 56 million users in India. Chingari allows its users to download and upload videos, chat with friends, interact with new people, share content, browse through feed, and much more. The platform is available in more than 12 vernacular languages along with English and Spanish.

This new link has been spreading like fire on WhatsApp and you must stay safe from it because it is malware. It is important to note that no link can change WhatsApp’s logo or theme to Pink by just clicking on it. If there would be a change in the logo or theme, then the Facebook-owned company will officially announce the same. This malware link has been reportedly introduced to trick WhatsApp users and steal access to their accounts. Cybersecurity members have also reportedly suggested that clicking on any suspicious WhatsApp Pink installation link received on WhatsApp will users’ phone and hackers can get access to their WhatsApp accounts.

Cybersecurity expert ‘Rajshekhar Rajaharia’ also made users aware of this malware link by sharing it on social media. Here’s how you can stay safe from this WhatsApp’s Pink installation link malware.

1. Identify the link, check the keywords, spelling errors and grammatical mistakes in the URL.

2. Avoid clicking on links that promise gifts and unofficial changes to the app.

3. Do not share a suspicious link to other WhatsApp groups, family or friends

4. Check the official website of WhatsApp and look if there is any feature announced by the company that changes its logo from Green to Pink.

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker officially launched its Oppo A94 5G phone in Europe. The smartphone is introduced as a rebranded version of the Oppo Reno 5Z that was launched in Singapore earlier this month. The device has been reportedly listed on several European retail websites and will go on sale from May 3, 2021. Facebook Set to Take on Clubhouse, Zoom With Social Audio Products

New Delhi, April 19: Facebook is all set to announce a of social audio products to take on invite-only audio meet Clubhouse and video conferencing platform Zoom.

The likely products, to be unveiled on Monday (US time), are an audio-only version of videoconferencing product Rooms, a Clubhouse-like audio chat product, a podcast discovery product that will be connected with Spotify and another product that will let Facebook users record brief voice messages and post them in their newsfeeds, reports Vox.

According to the report on Sunday, it was still unclear when will Facebook make these products available for the public and some products may be announced in Beta version.

Earlier reports mentioned that Facebook was working on to build its own social audio app like Clubhouse.

The product was “in its earliest stages of development” and the “project’s code name could change”.

The news came after joined Clubhouse in February and participated in chat about the future of augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR).

When the video chat platform Zoom became popular last year, Facebook quickly created Rooms, a group video chat service.

As the invite-only audio chat app Clubhouse becomes a hot property in Silicon Valley, Facebook has launched another experiment called Hotline that is a mashup of Instagram Live and Clubhouse.

The feature under allows creators to speak to an audience who can then ask questions through either text or audio, reports Tech Crunch.

“However, unlike Clubhouse, creators can opt to turn their cameras on for the event, instead of being audio-only”.

At present, users can type in their questions, then join the host “on stage,” when it’s their turn. The guests are represented by their profile icon and are audio-only when on stage.

Twitter is also working on a Clubhouse competitor called , which is in beta development.
